Welcome to the Tembo House #51
A Breathtaking Haven in the Heart of Ol Pejeta
Picture this. It is 7 am and from the huge window in Tembo House’s Master Bedroom, a herd of gazelles can be seen grazing nearby. Moments later, an elephant joins the herd, and before you know it, there’s a zebra, a dik-dik, and a giraffe in sight.
To say that the Tembo House is beautiful, is a gross understatement. The place is simply magical, partly due to the incredibly beautiful landscape that surrounds it and partly because of its exquisite interiors!
Spend your days marveling at the beautiful African bush and your nights reveling in the sight of moonlight and the slightly scary sounds of the wild.
It’s not often that you find yourself staying somewhere so exhilaratingly beautiful...
The Rooms at Tembo House
The Tembo House is where classic sophistication meets modern luxury. The house features;
- A spacious master bedroom with a full-sized bed and en-suite bathroom
- Two twin bedrooms, each fitted with two single beds
- Two double rooms, both of which can accommodate two people.
All these rooms come complete with regal refinements such as stunning African-inspired decor, opulent fabrics, plush beds, and huge windows from where the spectacle of the savannah can be witnessed.
Also in the house is a dining area which can comfortably accommodate ten people. Here, you can devour an excellently cooked meal as you enjoy a breathtaking view of the wild.
The Tembo House Experience
The Tembo House is located in the Ol Pejeta, a dumbfoundingly beautiful park where stunning landscapes and huge wildlife varieties collide. From the comfort of your bed, watch wildlife, big and small, wander across the savannah. Spot a lone lion hunting or hear the trumpeting of an elephant while on an intimate breakfast served on the outside sitting area. When hungry, stray into the kitchen and let the chef make you whatever you desire, whenever you desire it.
A Day at the Tembo House
The appeal of Ol Pejeta lies in its dumbfounding contrasts; the winding waterways of the majestic Ewaso Nyiro, the gape-inducing beauty of its open grasslands, and the breathtaking vastness of its acacia woodlands.
While each of these areas has its own distinct highlights, one thing remains unchanged: its wildlife. Its vast, spectacular wildlife, which ranges from rarities such as leopards, cheetahs, and the northern white rhino to easy to spot species such as elephants, zebras, gazelles, elands, impalas, and so much more.
So, really, the question, when it comes to the Ol Pejeta should not be “which activities do I do” but rather “where do I even start”.
From sundowners and game drives to photography, bush dinners, nature walks, horse safaris, and camping- the world really is your oyster when it comes to the Ol Pejeta.
Bush Breakfast
Imagine it: the sky illuminated orange by the rising sun. The melodious early morning singing of birds. The brush of cold, harsh wind against your cheeks.
And then you, alone or with your loved ones, seated on a table set somewhere in the Ol Pejeta slowly munching away a delicious breakfast.
Game Drives
Never- and we mean never- will you ever feel more a part of the magnificence of Africa than on a game drive. The experience is an absolute assault on the senses- from the spectacular array of wildlife you’ll witness to the variety of birds, landscapes, and vegetation you will come across.
Sundowner
Cocktails. Sunset. And a panoramic view of the Ol Pejeta plains.
The beauty of an Ol Pejeta sundowner is unmatched.
